exists for educational purposes exclusively; to raise the standards of music education; to improve the methods employed in music education; to develop new teaching techniques; to disseminate to school music teachers, directors, supervisors, and others interested in music education information to assist in their professional work; to examine, analyze and appraise literature dealing with music; to hold clinics, lectures, and demonstrations for the betterment of music education; and in general, to assist teachers and others interested in music education in better pursuing their profession.

The Teacher Resource Center (Located in the Exhibit Hall)

Clinic Handout Library
When available, extra clinic handouts will be collected in the Teacher Resource Center for distribution to teachers who were unable to attend those clinics.
 
Internet Café
Computer terminals and a wireless connection are available in the Teacher Resource Center for no charge.
 
Software Demonstrations

College Night
In 2010, College Night will be held on Thursday, December 16, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. in McCormick Place West’s F2 Lobby. College Night is an opportunity for students and teachers looking for undergraduate and graduate music programs to meet with the representatives of more than seventy colleges, universities and branches of the military. A tradition since 1988, College Night is free and open to the public, and educators are welcome to bring their students.

College Credit

A program offered in cooperation with the University of Miami enables directors attending The Midwest Clinic to earn one or two graduate education credits during the conference. Please click here for more information about this terrific program, including an application form.
While the application form is included in the online packet for your convenience, registration will take place only at The Midwest Clinic. Please bring your completed application to the University of Miami booth (in the exhibit hall) no later than Friday, December 17.

Course requirements:
1. Attendance at ten sessions per credit hour.
2. A three- to five-page paper, due by February 1.
Tuition fee: $160 per credit hour, payable by check. (Cash and credit cards will not be accepted).
