Here, we share some of their reactions to being invited to appear at The 2010 Midwest Clinic. "‘On behalf of the Board of Directors, it is my pleasure to invite you to present a concert at the 2010 Midwest Clinic.’ What would your reaction be if you opened your email and read that statement? ‘Oh My God!, Oh My God!” was my literal first reaction when I received the email inviting us to present a concert at Midwest Clinic 2010. My wife Liz was teaching a violin lesson in her office. When she heard me, she poked her head in and I told her the news. We cried together for a few minutes and then I had one thought… I’ve got eight months!" — David Blake, Director, Los Cerritos Middle School Jazz Band, Thousand Oaks, California "I was very excited, thrilled and honored to be selected. Since it was April Fool's Day, for a moment I thought it was a joke! I soon realized it was very real and was overwhelmed with emotion. When I told my band, I couldn't help but shed tears! What an accomplishment and honor they have received.
