An A through Z list of tips, activities and shares for the instrumental classroom. Holly McCoy - Biographical Information

Holly McCoy is an Instrumental Music Teacher at Clary Middle School and Meachem Elementary School in the Syracuse City School District. She has 24 years of teaching experience behind her. Holly is a Brass Adjudicator for New York State Schools Music Association and also represents NYSSMA as the Chair for the New York Councils of Music Education Association. She also serves as New York State Band Director’s Association’s Treasurer. Along with presenting and conducting in a variety of music venues, she spends her time performing on the French horn with the Central Winds (a Music Educators’ Wind Ensemble), Syracuse University Brass, other various community groups and for local school musicals. Holly has also presented at conferences on subjects such as urban education, classroom management, personalized learning and brass and percussion. Holly lives in Sherrill, NY and is married to Bill McCoy, a music teacher in Oneida County. Together they have two young adults, Matthew and Morgan.
